Climate story · Montbéliard, France
Where is the snow from my childhood?
When I was a kid, I used to spend the winter holidays at my grandparents' in the East of France.
Heavy white fluffy snow everywhere, building snowmen, sledding, doing snowball fights with my cousins. From a kid's eyes, it was truly magical.
I've noticed over the years that the snow was not really sticking anymore, it was melting faster. Turning into black ice or mud.
Now, this seems like a distant memory. It's not cold anymore, and there's barely snow. The magic of the winter holiday season has disappeared.
